García Padilla: ya fuiste Secretario del DACO para los agricultores y FRACASASTE ESTREPITOSAMENTE… y los agricultores se acuerdan muy bien.
Durante su incumbencia como Secretario del DACO, el precio de abono se disparó y él no hizo nada para detenerlo. Como los agricultores no podían pagar el abono caro, no pudieron fertilizar sus cosechas. Las cosechas fueron atacadas por plagas. En específico, y según publicó el propio Nuevo Día, el café fue arrasado por la broca.
¿Por qué subió el precio del abono? Una empresa se quedó con el mercado de abono en Puerto Rico. El propio Nuevo Día reportó que suplía el 95% del mercado en la Isla.
Como Secretario del DACO, no hizo nada para evitar que una sola empresa dominara el mercado del abono. Como resultado, en el 2008, esa empresa anunció que le aumentaría EN UN SOLO MES 45% AL PRECIO DEL ABONO que vendía al gobierno para los agricultores. Así lo reportó también el Nuevo Día.
¿Qué hizo García Padilla desde DACO para evitar el dominio de esa empresa en Puerto Rico? NADA. ¡ABSOLUTAMENTE NADA!
Miles de agricultores sufrieron cuando DACO no evitó la creación de un dominio total del abono en Puerto Rico. La agricultura sufrió. El dominio sin control de una empresa nos costó millones y millones de dólares y como Secretario del DACO García Padilla no hizo nada.
Cuando tuvo la oportunidad de ayudar y defender a los agricultores, García Padilla no hizo nada y protegió a los amigos del Partido Popular.
