Analicemos mi pensar: "El Que No Se Hace Inteligente Se Hace Popular”. Esta ha sido parte de la Política Publica del PPD durante los pasados 59 años, mantener al pueblo limitado y embrutecido para seguir el guiso colonial de lo “mejor de dos mundos” (según ellos).
Así que no le asombre a nadie el pensar de estos seres, no es culpa de ellos; es a lo que sus gobernantes populares los han limitado, lo que le han inculcado sus antecesores que carecían de educación formal, la mayor parte de ellos campesinos, que comían pan, labraban la tierra y no tenían libertad de pensamiento. Siempre endeudados pues gastan más de lo que tienen, amedrentados con el cuco de la Estadidad para no dejarlos pensar libremente y eximirlos del progreso a que tienen derecho. Ahora, los Populares estudian en las universidades como cualquier otro, pero por tradición, en vez de superar la crisis y la época colonial-territorial, Se dedican a decir que NO y a METERLE MIEDO A LA GENTE.
En cambio nosotros los estadistas, somos seres que nos hemos distinguido por educarnos, por progresar, por superarnos, por arreglar los revolúes que dejan los ineptos, por formar parte de la gran nación americana, por el crecimiento y la planificación, por administrar y por sacar a la isla de la debacle económica y por la igualdad a la que tenemos derecho como ciudadanos americanos de primera.
Mi ejemplo más reciente de un Estadista que admiro, mi Gobernador Luis G. Fortuño Burset.
Desde que asumió su cargo en enero de 2009, la prioridad principal del Gobernador Luis G. Fortuño Burset ha sido la tarea de revitalizar la economía de Puerto Rico. Al comienzo de su administración, actuó decisivamente para enderezar las finanzas del Gobierno, seguido por dar un fuerte impulso a una serie de reformas y proyectos estratégicos que apoyen el crecimiento económico integral y sostenido de la Isla.
Entre sus logros, durante la primera mitad de su primer cuatrienio, Fortuño salvó el crédito de la Isla en Wall Street. En 2010, Puerto Rico recibió el mayor aumento de calificación crediticia de cualquier otro estado o territorio de los Estados Unidos. En reconocimiento de la eficacia de sus políticas, en noviembre de 2010, la Isla recibió su primer pronóstico de crédito positivo en casi tres décadas.
Bajo el liderazgo de Fortuño, se re-estructuró un aparato gubernamental previamente sumido en gastos fuera de control por los gobiernos previos del PPD. En dos años, Fortuño redujo el déficit presupuestario que heredó, proporcionalmente, más que cualquier otro gobernador en la Nación. Como resultado de las políticas de responsabilidad fiscal que implantó, Fortuño también presentó en el 2010 legislación para implantar el mayor recorte de impuestos en la historia de Puerto Rico. Con la reforma contributiva de Fortuño, la carga contributiva del pueblo puertorriqueño se está reduciendo un promedio de 50%, y la carga contributiva de las empresas se está reduciendo en un 30%. El gobernador Fortuño es reconocido por sus pares a través de los Estados Unidos como un líder entre líderes.
Actualmente, se desempeña como presidente electo del Concilio de Gobiernos Estatales y primer vicepresidente de la Asociación de Gobernadores Sureños. También se desempeña en la Junta de Directores del Centro para las Mejores Prácticas de la Asociación Nacional de Gobernadores, así como del Consejo de Gobernadores del Presidente de los Estados Unidos; lo que nunca antes otro gobernador puertorriqueño había podido alcanzar.
Antes de su elección como gobernador, Fortuño representó al pueblo de Puerto Rico en el Congreso, como su único representante electo al máximo foro legislativo federal. Durante sus cuatro años en el Congreso, Fortuño se distinguió como un campeón de política fiscal y social conservadora. Asimismo, logró un tratamiento más equitativo para Puerto Rico en programas federales, incluyendo la obtención para la isla de su primer aumento en fondos Medicaid en más de nueve años.
De 1994 a 1997, Fortuño se desempeñó como Secretario de Desarrollo Económico y Comercio de Puerto Rico. También al mismo tiempo, se desempeñó como Director Ejecutivo de la Compañía de Turismo de Puerto Rico y Presidente de la Corporación de Desarrollo Hotelero. En estas capacidades, Fortuño logró la adopción del código de comercio uniforme, el relanzamiento de la Ley de Corporaciones de Puerto Rico e implantó una política de inversión agresiva para el crecimiento de la industria de turismo en la isla.
